B.B.C. fee
PA London Britain’s 6000 television and radio writers have launched a campaign aimed at persuading the Government to increase licence fees. to 50 pounds ($111). The present fee for television and radio is 34 pounds ($75). The writers, members of the Writers Guild of Great Britain, the Society of Authors and the Association of Cinematograph, Television . and Allied Technicians, said that a pound a week was a small price to pay for the “quality public service broadcasting of the 8.8. C.” A spokesman for the writers said the 8.8. C. was part of the lifeblood of the nation and possibly the most important patron of the arts in Britain. |
