Search for body

Blenheim reporter Heavy seas and winds gusting up to 32 knots which caused a five-metre boat to capsize on a reef about 400 m from the Cape Campbell lighthouse on Wednesday morning have continued to hamper a search for the body of one of its occupants. The missing man who is believed to have drowned, is Kennedy Robin Taylor, aged 34, of 204 Redwood Street Blenheim. By midday yesterday a civilian Search and Rescue

group using trail bikes and led by constable B. Connell, of Seddon, and constable P. Newton, of Blenheim, had combed the coastline along Cape Campbell. Another search was started at high tide at 1 p.m., but this had to be called off at 3.15 p.m. because of the sea conditions. As heavy seas are expected to continue for several days, the Blenheim police are uncertain when the search can be resumed.
