Kevin Radburnd (rear) and Beverley Thurlow are in tandem above and tomorrow they will enter into another partnership when they are married in Christchurch. 1
Radburnd, a former New Zealand professional cycling champion and Canterbury representative at amateur championships, and his wife-to-be have been in Australia
for four years, but Radburnd only returned to cycling after a two-year lay-off in the last four months. Then, a combination of increasing weight and the news that the Healing-3ZM Tour of the South would more than likely be a proam, persuaded Radburnd to get back into cycling. His impending marriage gave him a double reason for
[ returning to his home city. ; “Play it low key— I’m ! really here for my wedding and the tour is something of [ a strange honeymoon,” said > Radburnd yesterday, but he [ confessed to having a fas- | cination for riding the de- . manding 775 km tour through i Canterbury and Westland ; after having viewed a simi- > lar tour as a young official • in 1973.
