Japanese envoy leaves
Mr A. Tanaka, the/Japanese Consular Affairs Officer based in Christchurch for the past two years, bid an emotional farewell in the Town Hall last evening. “How time flies. Today, for
me this saying has become a reality/; he' tojd a. big crosssection- of the Christchurch community gathered to bid him farewell, and welcome his successor, Mr F. Takeuchi, and Mrs Takeuchi./ .
“I am sorry to leave such a beautiful country, a country of hospitality,” Mr Tanaka said, wiping a tear from his eye. The Mayor of Christchurch Mr Hamish Hay, said that
