Notifiable diseases
Three cases of campylobacter, a type of food poisoning, were among the suspected notifiable diseases reported to the Health Department in Christchurch last / week. Campylobacter, while not very unusual, or particularly serious, was one gastro-intes-tinal disease, which was still the subject of research, said a Health Department spokesman. The other diseases reported to the department included three cases of salmonella, two of- bacillary dysentery, one of malaria and one of tuberculosis.
