River banks to be stronger
More than $226,000 will probably be spent on improving the Waimakariri River’s banks over the next five years. The North Canterbury Catchment Board’s river control and drainage committee recommended yesterday that the Commissioner of Works be asked to approve twe strengthening schemes alonj the Waimakariri River. The first scheme, estim ated to cost $200,000, is foi 1600 metres of rock protec tion along the seven kilo
