Boost for Robin Tait
PA Auckland Robin Tait gave his chances of competing at his sixth Commonwealth Games in Brisbane next October a boost with a qualifying discus throw of 58.4 metres on Saturday. Competing at the Takapuna open meeting in Auckland in perfect conditions for
throwing, Tait caught the strong wind on his fourth round throw to better the selection standard. Tait, the winner of the 1974 Commonwealth Games discus gold medal at Christchurch,', with 63.08 meters, said after the event that he was in his best shape ever and looking forward to the rest of the season.
