Chch youth workers invited to Japan
Fifteen Christchurch youth workers will be invited to Japan next March as guests of the Osaka Association for Youth Development and the city’s prefectural government. . The Japan Centre in Christchurch is calling for applicants to make the trip. The 15 will spend about eight days in and around Osaka, and may also visit Kurashiki, Christchurch’s sister city. Applications are sought
from people in the 25 to 40 age-group. Half of the successful applicants’ fares will be paid by the host organisation. They will have to raise about $l2OO extra each, plus spending money. •The Japan Centre, which can be reached through the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, will conduct seminars on Japan and its customs before the visit. Next month; a group of youth workers from Osaka will repeat a visit made last year, to Christchurch.
