Father and son presidents
PA Timaru The new president of the Society of Accountants, Mr Bruce Christmas, is the first head of the society’ to have followed in his father's footsteps in this post. Mr Christmas was elected at the first meeting of the seventy-fourth council of the society during the society's annual two-day conference in Timaru. His father, Mr Arthur Christmas, aged 84, now retired, was president in 195657. Mr Christmas jun., an Auckland chartered accountant, succeeds Mr R. C. Pope. The vice-president is Mr Peter Gray, of Dunedin, and the treasurer is Mr J. Torrance, of Christchurch, who was re-elected.
