These positions will particularly suit applicants who have food or biotechnology qualifications or other science aned technology qualifications, together with appropriate industry experience. Specifically, applications are invited for the position of works chemist at our new Waitoa cheese factory. This is a senior position within the factory management team and consequently we are seeking a person with proven technical and staff management skills. The Waitoa cheese factory is newly commissioned and employs the latest plant technology available to manufacture in excess of 11,000 tonnes of Cheddar cheese annually. The works chemist will be responsible for the supervision of the laboratory which performs chemical annd microbiological analysis at all phases during the cheese manufacturing process. Responsibilities will also include direct involvement and supervision of the quality assurance programme including the planning, implementation and monitoring stages. The successful applicant will possess a tertiary qualification and is likely to have experience in the production of cheese and a knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
