DUTIES; (a) To administer the Securities Ordinance, the Protection of Investors Ordinance and the Commodities Trading Ordinance, including rules and regulations made thereunder; the Code on Take-overs and Mergers; and Codes of Practice in respect of Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds; (b) To be Member of the Securities Commission and the Commodities Trading Commission; (c) To put proposals to the Chairman of the Securities Commission and the Commodities Trading Commission on the regulation of exchanges procedures and on other matters concerned with trading in securities and commodities; (d) To administer various compensation funds established under the Securities Ordinance and the Commodities Trading Ordinance; (e) To liaise with the Hong Kong Federation of Stocks Exchange and the Commodities Exchange; (f) To keep under regular review the effectiveness of existing legislation and advise on necessary amendments or on the need for fresh legislation; and (g) Such other duties as may be required. PAY: $HK29,000 per month. TERMS: Initial appointment is on agreement for 3 years. A terminal gratuity at the rate of 25 per cent of gross salary earned during the agreement is also payable. 45 days annual home leave with paid return passages.
