Tram nearly ready

A carpenter at the Ferrymead Historic Park, Mr Arthur Pascoe, stands on the front of a 1910 tram which has been undergoing restoration for the last three years and a half. Built by Boon and Company, of Christchurch, and designed by a Christchurch Tramways Board engineer, “Boon 152” is one of a series of 28 built for the board. It was left in a will to the Tramways Historical Society in 1969 and was ; in storage until restoration began. The tram will be ; opened to the public in a ceremony on November 21.,
