Honour for Duke
PA Wellington The Queen yesterday invested the Duke of Edinburgh with the first insignia of the Queen’s Service Order awarded to a member of the Royal Family. A private ceremony at Government House yesterday saw the Queen exercise her prerogative to award extra companionships of the order to Royal Family members, outside the fixed annual quota of 30 apointments. The order was instituted in 1975. Prince Philip is rewarded for his public ser-, vices.
