Aqua Avia delay

PA Auckland The Aqua Avia Society is unlikely to be flying by Monday, its target date for the introduction of domestic services. The Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Transport still has to be satisfied about some aspects of the society’s activities. The Deputy Director of Civil Aviation (Mr T. R. Pike) said yesterday it was unlikely that the society would have the necessary clearances by Monday. The division had still not recieved all the information it needed. The society would probably get off the ground “once they untangled themselves." Mr Pike said that the aircraft, a leased Viscount, would almost certainly be

granted a certificate ot airworthiness. The society now hopes to start services after Labour Day, October 26.
