Q’land backs down
The Queensland Government has backed down from its firm stand against a Royal Commission into the beef-substitution scandal and has announced it will take part. Announcing his decision, the State Primary Industries Minister (Mr Mike Ahern) said Queensland had agreed to participate, but he stipulated it would have no part of an inquiry that included the domestic meat industry.
