Last Nares
The Nares play their final dates at the Hillsborough Tavern, Christchurch, during the next two weeks before heading to the North Island on a combined performing and recording tour. The band are to stay in the North Island for about three months, and come back to the South Island for a fewshows during the Christmas holidays, before heading to Australia. Tony Waine, the Nares’ returned from Melbourne about two weeks ago after “sussing” out the music scene there in anticipation of the big assault on the continent. Andy Dickson, the lead guitarist, is from Australia, and the new lighting technician, Peter Grumley, is from Brisbane. According to Tony Waine,
the reaction to the Nares entering the music scene in Australia seems to be warm, and it is a matter of setting up the dates.
