Broadcaster dies
Lowell Thomas, who was for decades America's bestknown broadcaster, has died aged 89. He apparently died from a heart attack. Mr Thomas, who retired as a newscaster in 1976 after 46 years, brought the World War One exploits of Lawrence of Arabia to the worlds attention. -- New York.
