The property consists of 5 independent commercially operated units being Dairy, Sheep and Cattle, Beef, Fat Lambs, and Mixed Cropping. The Institute provides a 1 year course in practical agriculture for students 16 to 18 years of age, a wide range of short in-depth courses for farmers, block courses for those studying for the N.Z. The successful appointee will be a member of a small, highly specialised tutorial team, and will be required to tutor in the range of courses provided at the Institute as well as being associated with the farm units and having a role in the supervision of practical training. A degree in agriculture or agricultural science is essential and a background in either advisory or practical farming is desired. Previous instructional/tutorial experience an advantage.
