National’s concern 'sad, sick’
PA Auckland The Labour Party's youth president, Mr Gary Williams, says that the concern expressed by his National counterparts for the needs of young people is “a sad and sick political joke." Mr Williams said the Young Nationals had shown their lack of interest in youth policies by attending only one meeting of the National Youth Council in more than two years. The National Youth Council represents more than 30 youth organisations, including political parties, sports groups, scouts and guides.
At the recent National Party conference, the president of the Young Nationals Mr Peter Kiely, said the needs of young people had not been given enough attention by the Government.
