Air services unaffected

PA Auckland Pacific air services tc America are showing little effect to the United States air traffic controllers’ strike. The worst hit services are United States domestic ones, and international flights flying into eastern parts ol America, said an Air New Zealand spokesman.

Provided the Pacific services could keep to schedule, air traffic control at Honolulu and Los Angeles could cope.

Air New Zealand pilots, in spite of the lack of clearance from New Zealand controllers for flying in American air space, are still flying into United States airports. A Los Angeles-Auckland flight was slightly late into Auckland early yesterday because of the American strike, and there could be other minor deiavs later.
