Bush too powerful
PA Gisborne Wairarapa Bush had too much forward power and possession, and too much back-line skill for East Coast at Ruatoria yesterday, to win, 21-0. But East Coast conceded only three tries to a team that had all the opportunities to make the play. As if the prove Sunday’s
10-12 loss to Poverty Bay, East Coast held Wairarapa Bush out with some desperate defence. All three tries were created in the forwards and not once did the Coast let Wairarapa Bush get the better of its back line. Scorers. — Wairarapa Bush: Graham Anderson, Merv Dudley, Chris Kapene tries, Doug Brace well penalty goal, Neil Kjestrup 2 penalty goals.
