Hastings off

PA Hastings Unsafe track conditions and rain forced the abandonment of the second day of the Hawke's Bay-Dannevirke Hunt Club’s race meeting at Hastings yesterday. The Club’s secretary, Mr Trevor Casley, said stewards inspected the track yesterday morning and decided to call the meeting off “in the interests of safety.” “There is considerable surface water on the track, especially near the jumps,” he added. The club will apply to the Racing Conference for an alternative date.
