Subaru stronger

Subaru’s 1981 range of passenger vehicles comprises four models: the four wheeldrive station waggon ($15,995). the M.P.V. ($12,395). the two-wheel drive waggon ($13,795), and the sedan

($13,795). Earlier this year, Subaru launched its I.B’ litre station waggon — its previous fourwheel drive waggon had 1.6 litres.

This gave more torque for muddy conditions and improved towing ability, according to Subaru.

The old single-ratio gearbox was replaced with a new high and low ratio transmission. The waggon's dashboard -was changed too. and was given an extra instrument, a

tachometer. Carpets replaced floor rubber and cloth-covered seats replaced vinyl ones.
