Shipping news Earnings from terminal up
The Port of Lyttelton's container terminal continued its record in the month of June by gaining revenue far ip excess of that expected, according to the Lyttelton Harbour Board's treasurer, Mr F. S. Green. Terminal revenue for the month totalled $923,628. whereas the budgeted figure had been $783,198. ■ '
With three container ships having used the terminal in the past three days and at least six more expected this month, it appears that that record will continue.
Cargo services income ran about $29,000 over the expected $166,842 for the month, but revenue from port installations and services was about $48,000 below the budgeted expectation of $649,892.
As might be expected, considering the volume of shipping handled at the container terminal during the month, expenses were also above budget at $694,139, as compared with the budgeted $491,694. All in all, the port’s revenue for June totalled $1.74M, against the budgeted $1.65M. Total expenses for the port in the month of June totalled $1.71M as compared with the budgeted SI.4M.
