J.C. Collett suspended
The Gore-based jockey, J. C. Collett, was suspended until 5 p.m. on August 8 by the Canterbury Jockey Club’s judicial committee at Riccarton yesterday.
Collett, the rider of Fleetwood Mac in the Heathcote Handicap, was found guilty of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear and cause a check to Myownie (G. Grylls) about 700 m from the finish.
