‘Trial’ concludes
NZPA-Reuter Rome The Italian terrorist group Red Brigades, yesterday announced the conclusion of the “proletarian trial” of its hostage, Renzo Sandrucci, and the conditions for his release. Mr Sandrucci, an executive of the Alfa-Romeo Company was kidnapped on June 3. In a message addressed to the private radio station. “People's Radio," the Red Brigades demanded that Alfa-Romeo cancel its scheduled lay-offs of several hundred employees, and that the Brigades' statements be published in the Italian press.
If the conditions were met. the message said. Mr Sandrucci would be freed. Until now most of Italy’s main newspapers have refused to publish the Red Brigades’ numerous manifestos and texts. The Red Brigades have pronounced death sentences on their two other current hostages. They are Ciro Cirillo, a Christian Democratic Party official from Naples kidnapped on April 27, and Roberto Peci, brother of a Red Brigades defector, Patrhizio Peci,, abducted on June 11.
