'Definite lead’ in drug theft
The police had a “definite lead" on the two men who robbed an Oxford pharmacist of the contents of his drug cabinet on Monday evening, said Detective Senior-Ser-geant A. G. I. Rodgers, yesterday.
There had been no arrest by last evening, however. The pharmacist, Mr C. J. Wallace, and Mrs Wallace had been met by two men armed with a rifle and a
jemmy bar when they answered a knock at the front door of their Main Street house about 9.20 p.m. Having opened the drug cabinet in the adjoining shop ?♦ gunpoint, Mr and Mrs Wallace were made to lie on their double bed and were bound with insulating tape before the robbers made their getaway.
A team of 16 detectives is working on the case.
