Shock squash win

NZPA Brisbane Stewart Davenport, aged 17, of New Zealand, won the Queensland Open squash championship in Brisbane over the week-end, after a shock defeat of more experienced rivals.

Davenport, the No. 4 seed, defeated the second seed, Frank Donnelly (Queensland) 9-0, 9-3, 6-9, 9-4 in a brilliant display. Earlier the young New Zealander had defeated the top seed, Ross Thorne, in a semi-final.
