Prices policy ‘in shambles’
The rise in the price of eggs in the last year was criticised yesterday by Labour's Shadow Minister of consumer affairs, Mrs Ann Hercus. She said eight rises in the last year, lifting the price of the most popular size of eggs by 27 per cent, put any attempt at prices stablisation by the Government in "shambles.”
."Milk, bread and now eggs — these are not luxury items. The Government surely knows this fact. They seem determined to undermine the ability of ordinary wage and salary earners to survive) while apparently allowing companies to escape with huge tax avoidance,” she said.
