N.Z. to take part in cruise
Wellington reporter New Zealand will take part with the United States and Australia in a joint oceanographic research project in the south-west Pacific early next year. The project will take the form of a two-month cruise, but the details have still to -be worked out, according to the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr Thomson). ~ .■ The basis for the project would be the research priorities established by C.C.0.P.S.O.P.A.C. — the Co-ordinat- ; ing Committee for Joint OffShore Prospecting for Seabed Minerals in the South Pacific — of which most of ; the independent South Pacific countries, including Australia and New Zealand, ’ were members.
