Supremacy confirmed
NZPA Melbourne The New Zealand netball team last evening confirmed its supremacy in the international three-way netball test series with a final round win over England. Before a capacity crowd of 4500 at Melbourne's Festival Hall, the New Zealand side led throughout to win 35 goals to 29. Already the outright winner of the competition, the undefeated New Zealand team showed an over-all strength that established . it as a serious contender for future World Cup titles. /A
In the first half of the 40minute match New Zealand's goal-shoots, Margaret Kamana and Margaret Forsyth, showed, a skill both in footwork and bill play that left the English 'defenders standing still. At the end of the first half the score was 14-8. In the second half, the English played desperation netball ; to come within two goals of the New Zealand score. In particular the English goalkeeper, Denise Hunter, came back into the game upsetting the efforts, of the dynamic New Zealand shooters. ...
