Film maker dies
Lotte Reiniger. the ’ German film maker credited with making the world's first full-length cartoon feature, has died in West Germany aged 82. Miss Reiniger invented silhouette cartoons and by this technique made the world's first cartoon feature. "The Adventures of Prince Achmed." a 65-minute film completed in 1926. In 1972 she was awarded a prize at the Berlin Film Festival for her work in the cinema. Her last film. "The Ring and The Rose." received its premiere in London last year. She left Germany after the Nazis came to power and since then lived in north London. — London.
