University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC CENTRAL DIRECTOR NIUE (Post 81/62) THE University operates nine regional centres in the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Niue, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Western Samoa. Applications are invited from graduates, with relevant educational and proven administrative experience, tor the post ot Centre Director, Niue. The position carries academic status and requires an ability to develop imaginative programmes, supervise junior staff and maintain good relationships with the public, government and community groups. Each Centre Director is responsible to the Director of Extension Services on the Laucala Campus for: (a) Developing a continuing education programme appropriate to local needs, (b) Servicing the distance learning programmes of the University. (c) Managing the local terminal of the University’s radio satellite communication network; and (d) Such other liaison and general duties as may be specified by the Director of Extension Services. • Salary In accordance with qualifications and experience in the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer scale: 5F9169 x 333— 5F’2,832; 5F13.257 x 3765F14.385 X 407—5F15,606. In addition the University provides gratuity amounting to 15 per cent of basic salary, appointment allowance, partly furnished accommodation at 12!4 per cent, of salary. The University will pay an allowance in lieu of superannuation of 10 per cent of standard salary. In some cases this allowance may be paid directly to the appointee’s existing superannuation scheme subject to a decision on acceptability of the scheme by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue.
