Midland firms
Midland Coachlines firmed 5c to 200 c on a mixed, moderately busy New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, in reaction to the news last week that it had acquired U.E.B.'s touring subsidiary. Trans Holdings. Another second-line issue. Wilkins and Davies, gained 90c to 450 c after a report that it had obtained a substantial contract in Malaysia. Market leaders were mixed. Alex Harvey, National Insurance, and TNL Group were firmer, but Dominion Breweries, U.E.8., and Wattie eased. Profit-taking was evident in the prices of E. Lichtenstein, Endeavour, and Neil Holdings.
