Confirmation

Mr Muldoon confirmed in Bonn late yesterday that he planned a further move in a bid to persuade the NewZealand Rugby Union from going ahead with the tour. He said he would not disclose what it was at this stage. His action will probably be taken after he returns to New Zealand at the end of this week. One possibility that has

been raised is that Mr Muldoon might make a direct approach to the South African Prime Minister (Mr Botha) to ask him to urge the South African rugby authorities to call off the tour. Mr Muldoon told NZPA in Bonn that he had not thought of doing this but would consider it. It is not known if that is the new initiative he has in mind.
