P.M.’s trips cost $79,000
PA Wellington Overseas trips by - the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) and his entourage have cost the New Zealand taxpayer $79,000 so far this year. That cost includes his visit to Japan, and Korea in April tor consolidate trading ■relationships and his present visit to Hobart, Rome, London, Germany and Paris. The cost of the two trips was given yesterday by the Acting Prime Minister (Mr Maclntyre) in response to a written question on today’s parliamentary order paper by Mr J. J. Terris (Lab., Western Hutt). ■ Other trips that .Mr Mui-j doon has planned for this i year include one to London i for the Royal wedding late in j July, another to the South Pacific forum’s Meeting in Vanuatu in early August, and another to the Commonwealth Heads-of-Govern-ment meeting in Melbourne at the end of September. Mr Maclntyre said that I the cost of these trips had | not been estimated.
