Deng plans changes
China's Communist Party strongman, Deng Xiaoping, hopes to scrap the ruling Politburo and radically restructure the party leadership. a pro-Peking magazine has said in Hong Kong. The usually well-informed monthly “Dongxiang” (Trends) said that Mr Deng planned sweeping changes to guard against the over-cen-tralisation of power as took place under the late Chairman Mao Tsetung. — Hong Kong.
