England wins bowls
The England bowls team sparkled in the. sunshine - at Nottingham on Saturday, rallying in their Kodak test match against the Rest of the World to score a remarkable victory. Trailing 196-107 overnight and in an apparently hopeless position they went into an early lead in all six games and runaway victories by Mai Hughes, Tom Bullet- and Tony Allcock with more sound performances by the world champion,, David Bryant, and Jim Ashman’ put them back in tlio match with a chance.
Results (England first):— C. Ward beat D. Watson (SA) 21-18.
A. Allcock beat W. Moseley (SA) 21-.4. ' J. Ashman beat K. Williams (Aust) 21-15. T. Buller beat I’. Bellis (NZ) 21-5.
D. Bryant beat C. Bransky (Israel) 21-11." M. Hughes beat F. Souza (USA) 21-9.
England 231 points, rest 196.
