World Bike Day
World Bike Day on June 1 will be used this year to publicise Linwood Avenue as a road which is not adequate for cyclists, according to a spokesman for the Canterbury Cyclists’ Association, Miss H. E. Crabb. The association feels that .the parts of the road where
the cyclists ride are in poor condition and are not very well lit at night. “The main area of the road we are concerned with is between the Avonside Drive-Woodham Road junction and Buckleys Road,” Miss Crabb said. The association will survey q the road’s potholes and corrugations on Monday. After the survey the association would get in touch with Christchurch City Council’s works and traffic committee about improving the road surface, Miss Crabb said.
