Trackwork Sir Ebony shows fitness in Wingatui gallop

In a gallop at, Wingatui Sir Ebony displayed fitness to resume racing. Sir Ebony, which is engaged in the Prince Charles Handicap at the O(\,o Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday, was shading Kapai after sprinting 800 m in si.Bs on a semi-frozen sand, the last 600 m in 395. Sir Ebony was put out of work in December when he pulle . a muscle jin his back.

Greyt put dash into his work when he led Catastrophe by two length! ending 1000 m in Imin 5.25, and the 800 m in 51.9 s and 600 m in 39.75. Greyt has drawn wide in the Silverpeaks Handicap. William Grey and Light Flight did well for jumpers to return 51.75. Belle Camille and Paddle sprinted sharply over 600 m in 38.55. Belle Camille, which has no immediate engagements is well forward. Kindie was shading Hasuka and Take Your Leave at the finish of 1000 m in Imin 5.15, the opening 400 m in 24.55. Kindie could be an outside chance in the Dunedin Hurdles.

Stylish is an unraced four-year-old mare by Noble Bijou out of Swanky. She is a half-sister to the fnw Zealand Cup winner, Watallan. Tarbela was partnered by Ploughman over 1200 m on the plough in Imin 19.45, the last 600 in 40s.

Tarbela has dropped to a handy position in i J weights for th? Suzuki Handicap at Wanganui. He on in Y ears t> ut looks particularly well. v„aymore Boy and Tosto registered Imin 5.5 s for 1000 m, the last 600 m on 39.25.

Claymore Boy, is a leading candidate for the O'Neill Handicap at Wanganui. Sovereign Ned gave a good exhibition with a fast school over six batten fences and Jester Purpose jumped five at half pace.

Indian Sunlight and Sweep took 51.7 s for 800 m on the plough, the last 600 m in 39.2 s and Bundaberg ran the second of two 6. i sprints in 39.55. Awapuni Chapel’s Gift and Cielle ran outstanding trials for Wanganui when they galloped at Awapuni. Both are last start winners. Chapel’s Gift at Foxton and Cielle at the Marton meeting at Awapuni last. week. Chapel’s Gift has real speed. He has drawn out a little in the Aramoho Handicap but on his gallop on Tues-

day he will take all sorts of catching. Cielle won very easily last week and she races over ground in the Suzuki Handicap. Working on the inside trial, which provided good footing, Chapel’s Gift was quickly into stride and ran 1000 m in Imin 3s the final 600 m in 38s. He had something in reserve at the finish and it was a fine effort.

Cielle is in great form. She galloped 800 m in 48s, the last 600 m in 365. 7

mare is one of the most improved gallopers at Awapuni. She ran a fire fifth over 2000 m in the Calaxy at Trentham and, coupled with her easy win last Wednesday this gives her a definite chance at Wanganui. Rabalam worked over a round and was timed her last 1200 m in Imin 255, the last 600 m in 41s. She left for Auckland yesterday along with Guess Who. He is in the Steeplechase on Monday and Rabalam the Great Northern Hurdles on Saturday. Diprose will not make the trip. He will probably contest the .op Dog Hurdle series.

Guess Who and Paddy Waggon covered 1400 m. in Imin : "’s, the last 600 m in 40.65. The Mannikin and Sencore covered 1400 m in Imin 355, the last 600 m in 40s. Sencore is close to best form and must be tough in the June Hurdles at Wanganui.

Camille was timed from the 1000 m in Imin 5.25, the final 600 m in 38.65. She ran a fine race at Foxton and has definite prospects in the Aramaho Handicap at Wanganui. Witchety ran 1400 m in Imin 395, the last 600 m in 395. He may be on hand for the Wanganui C '.eplechase on Monday. Gavade ran 1000 m in Imin 4s, the final 600 m in 38s. He is forward for a fresh start in the South Pacific HandiIcap at Wanganui and he races well on that track. ' Gold Tryst did better than [Empress Eugenie at the end of 800 m in 50s, the final 600 m in 375. Gold Tryst is close to form and she starts in the Cameron Handicap at Wanganui. Koiro Kutelle completed 800 m in 535, the last 600 m in 40s, Fraxy jumped four hurdles well then ran 1000 m in Imin 6s, the last 600 m in 40s. He ran a bold race at Awapuni last week and could not be counted out of Suzuki calculations. Copper Kane ran from the 1400 m, the last 1200 m in Imin 23s and 600 m in 39.45. He was second last week and will be respected in the Mac Nab Steeplechase at Wanganui. Westville gave a fair display over four hurdles and; |EI Mejor and Hullabaloo'; I were very impressive in a [schooling bout over six.
