The struggle for Henderson and Pollard dominated the New Zealand sharemarket for the third day in a row, creating interest in other issues. The market was firm and active. Henderson and Pollard shares accounted for 57.5 per cent of the total volume traded, with the issue gaining 25c to 575 c in ordinary 7 trading and one of six special sales selling for 600 c. Feltex lost 1c to 170 c on its biggest parcel, although it sold as high as 182 c, and Fisher and Pavkel firmed 2c to 270 c. Investors reacted favourably to profit announcements by‘Ballins, Odlins. and TNL Group. There were only nine falls among the price changes, including New Zealand South British and U.E.B.
