A record kill
The Canterbury Frozen Meat Company will have a record lamb and sheep kill this season. It passed its previous record for a season set in 197576, of 4,331,900, late on Monday afternoon with all chains still working: at all three of its sheep and lamb killing works. It will drop one chain at its Canterbury works at Bel-
fast today and another on Friday and two at its Fairton works on Friday, but there is still a lot of stock from South Canterbury, North Otago, and Central Otago to kill. The company's livestock buying manager, Mr N. G. Cornelius, said yesterday that a kill for the season of 4.5 million was likely to be attainable.
