The Americans .-are - Don Rader, a former trumpeter with the Woody Herman band and. arranger for Count Basie,: Maynard Ferguson, and Staq Kenton; Lanny. Morgan, a former alto saxophoriist with the Ferguson band and now a member of Super-sax;-Bobby Shew, who was a trumpeter with , the Louis : Bellson Band and is a lead-. ■ ing Los Angeles session musician; Tom Garvin, who has: played piano with bands led' by Don Ellis, Buddy Rich, and Stan Getz; Gordon Brisker, a tenor saxophonist" ! with the / Woody ' Herman Band during the 19605; arid Jeff Hamilton, drummer with the well-known. L.A., Four. * ' The group will play at the university’s ballroom at 8 p.m. next Tuesday.
