Nominations for conference posts
Only three retiring mem-; bers have been re-elected unopposed for positions on the Trotting Conference. They are the president, Sir James Barnes (Dunedin), the South Island vice-president, 1 Mr G. J. Kelly (Methven) and the North Island representative on the Racing Authority, Mr M. M. N. Corner (Auckland).
The North Island vicepresident, Mr C. R. Elliott (Morrinsville) is being challenged by Mr N. J. Taylor (Auckland). / Mf J. -N. Knight (Franklin) is seeking one of the North island seats’oil the executive! held by Mr L. E. August (Wellington) and Mr G. J.. S. MacDonald (N- ew Ploymouth).
Seven nominations have
been received for thrc<. South Island seats on the executive. They are Messrs V. C. Anngow (Dunedin), R. W, Dayne (Greymouth), A. J. Dynes (Invercargill, P. N. Hope-(Blenheim), J. G. Phillips (Timaru), B. B. Woods (Christchurch) and L. W. J. Woods (Motukarara). Messrs Phillips and L. W. j. Woods are retiring members.' A third' retiring member, - Mr- C. ■ GT Maynard (Winton) is ■ not seeking reelection. * ’ ’■ ' ■ .
Mr G. J. Cruickshank (Invercargill), is not seeking reelection aS the - South Jsland representative on the<Racing Authority. His seat, is being sought by Sir Jamer Barnes. Mr H. M. S. Dawson .(Christchurch)- and. NyET Pierce. (Invercargill). 'T ” -v ■. " ; / >'.
