Winter racing, and, with it, steeplechasing, returned to Riccarton yesterday., Champagne Flight (No. 2) is shown leading Hogan into the last round of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Haast Steeplechase. Champagne Flight held his lead to the end. Hogan ran off, but was taken back to complete the course at the rear.
