Kashmir Boy fit

Special correspondent Palmerston North

Kashmir Boy and Camille looked sharp in training at Awapuni on Thursday as they rounded off their preparations for the Foxton meeting. A wide draw may not stop Kashmir Boy from notching his first success while Camille is obviously forward enough to do herself justice .in the King Handicap. She has been to the races once for an impressive win at Napier Park in February. Working on a soft course proper Kashmir Boy was better than Secrecy at the end of 600 in 37.4. Kashmir Boy has raced twice for two seconds. Secrecy, which did not handle the ground well, will not start at Foxton. Camille sprinted 600 in 37s and was doing her work most attractively. , Local stables have Waylon, Regal Bijou and formality engaged in the Triton Stakes. The three impressed yesterday. especially Formality which was also a “star” on Tuesday. She rail 800 with Miss Cue in 51s, the last 600 in 375. Formality has thrived since winning at Woodville.

Regal Bijou, which won well at Trentham last week, shaded Satchmo at the end of 800 in 52sec, the last 600 in 38.6 sec? Waylpn galloped with Strike Free. They ran the last 600 of 800 in 395. Wayion won first-up at Blenheim but the task is harder at Foxton. Chapel’s Gift, which has a wide draw in the King Handicap, ran 1200 evenly in Imin 19.65, the last 600 in 40.65.

The Pro ran the last 600 m of an easy round in 39s but he would need good footing to have a chance in the Foxton Cup. Guess Who ran an easy 1400, as did stablemate, Hurrigan. These two will clash in the Dombroski Steeplechase. Guess Who’s class will count though the race is certain to improve him further. The same could be said for Hurrigan, which is very fast.

Rabalam and Tamahou jumped four hurdles in fine style but Tamahou was very lame after. Rabalam looks sure to go close to winning at Foxton.
