Holiday Activities

Holiday activities arranged for this week include: Central Library: Films, today, story-time with Margaret Mahy, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Sumner Library: Films, today, story-time, 2.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. St Martins Library: Co-louring-in and story telling, throughout the day,today. Special film session today from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Spreydon Library:Storytime today from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mask-making today from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. Fendalton Library: Daily story reading from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Arts and crafts displays contributed by children.

Bishopdale Library: Daily story reading from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Papanui Library: Daily activities during Maori Week, including weaving, wood carving, Maori myths and stories.

New Brighton Library: Story-time, today from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hornby Library: Storytime, daily from 10.45 a.m. to 11.45 a.m.

Lyttelton Library: Daily sessions of stories, arts and crafts from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Canterbury Museum: Open daily 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Sundays 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Robert McDougall Art Gallery: Children’s puppet theatre performed by the “Flying Hat Company,’’ today at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Grana Park: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the holidays the lions will be fed at 11.30 a.m. and

2.30 p.m. Special holiday attractions are the little lion cubs, baby spider monkeys and baby water buffalo. Yaldhurst Transport Museum: Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Willowbank Wildlife Reserve: Open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Picnic barbecues, pony and donkey rides. Bishopdale Community Centre: Drop-in centre next to the community centre will be open daily, 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include pool, table tennis, arts and crafts, and music.

Aranui Activity Centre: Morning activities 10 a.m. to 12 noon: Today, games and lunch-time barbecue. Afternoon activities: today, board games and table tennis. Activity charge, 20c per child. New Brighton Christian Centre: Roller skating daily, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ozone Roller Rink. The Coca-Cola Robot will be at the rink.
