26 charges
A man., who was fiTcd as a waiter at the Stouffer's Irin in New York state shortly before a fire on December 4 that killed 26 people there has been charged with 26 counts of murder. Luis Marin, aged 25, who was arrested at his home, had claimed at the time of the fire that he was a hero who tried to rescue tjie victims, At his arraignment, he pleaded not guilty to '26 charges of murder plus one each of arson and criminal mischief, and was ordered held without bail pending a May 6 court appearance.— White Plains.
