PA 1 Napier Most wool sold on a strong market at Napier yesterday. Full. fleece, long secondshear, and the few lines of lambs’ wool were in sellers’ favour compared With Monday’s Dunedin auction, when .prides were V/t per cent up on the March Dunedin auc(ion. •.■ ■■ ■ ? The only , exception yesterday was for shorter secondshear, Which was barely steady , Second-shear, accounted for 70 per cent of the offering, which was. of good length and yield. Considerable discolouration was caused by wet weather at shearing time. The Wool Board bld on 42 per cent of the offering and had bought 16 per cent by the lunch break. This compares with the last Napier sale in March when the board bid on 64 per cent and bought 36 per cent. Competition was strong and widespread, the principal buyers being the Middle East and the Continent, supported by New Zealand carpet mills. The adjusted. weighted average sale price was 251.40 c a kilogram. The range of prices was.-
