Centennial popular
More than 2900 old boys of Christchurch Boys’ High School have registered for the school’s centennial celebrations, which will begin at the Town Hall on Thursday evening. About 100 were coming from overseas, including some from Europe and Canada, said a spokesman for the centennial committee, Mr M. O. Holdsworth.
Events include a dinner, a concert, and a party. Tickets were still available for some of these functions, he said.
The annual rugby match against Christ’s College has been brought forward to coincide with the celebrations and will be played at Rugby Pgrk on Thursday. The Gov-ernor-General (Sir David Beattie) will open the celebrations.
